DeShawn Snow Foundation Selected to Host Events for Walt Disney’s Holiday Film “Bed Time Stories”

The DeShawn Snow Foundation was selected by Walt Disney Studios to host two promotional events for the film Bed Time Stories opening in theaters on Christmas Day, starring actor Adam Sandler.
 
On Saturday, December 20, The DeShawn Snow Foundation will team up with Walt Disney Studios to host “Holiday Story Time and Book Drive.” Families are invited to come out between 11 a.m. and Noon to the Barnes & Noble in Perimeter Center West (120 Perimeter Center West, Atlanta, GA 30346) to meet DeShawn Snow and to purchase books to donate to those less fortunate. They will also be able to win cool prizes and hear classic holiday tales read by the DeShawn Snow Foundation Angels.
 
To kick off the DeShawn Snow Foundation and Walt Disney Studio’s holiday film promotions, special invited guests attended Jammie Jam ’08-a private screening of Bedtime Stories on Thursday, December 18th at Regal Perimeter Pointe. This pajama party for the kids included special guest reader Eric Snow who got the audience into the holiday spirit by reading a festive story. Fun prizes were given away for the coolest pajamas.

DeShawn Snow and Willie Whitehead and Friends Team Up To Present the First Annual “Snow White” Chris
 

 

WHAT The DeShawn Snow Foundation and the Willie Whitehead Foundation team up to present the first annual “Snow White” Christmas benefiting underprivileged youth of Atlanta and Union City. Thirty boys and girls have been selected to dine at former NFL New Orleans Saints defensive end Willie Whitehead’s Wing Lab restaurant in Union City and then take their gift cards presented by the two foundations to the Union City Walmart to shop.

WHO DeShawn Snow and Willie Whitehead will be joined by their celebrity friends Ovie Mughelli of the Atlanta Falcons, Miss Black Georgia 2009 Tashay Reid and Miss Black Georgia 2008 Holly Halayne. Others to be announced.

WHEN — Wednesday, December 17, 2008 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

WHERE — Begins at the Wing Lab, 4737 Jonesboro Rd, Suite 50 Union City, GA 30291 at 5:30 p.m. and moves to Walmart in the same shopping plaza near Shannon Mall at 6:30 p.m.

DeShawn Snow honored at 2008 Behind the Bench Conference

In an effort to maintain their longstanding commitment to community service, Behind the Bench has selected the theme “Empowering the Meaning of Philanthropy.”  This 2008 conference will be attended by over 100 wives from all major professional sports including, but not limited to, the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and their guests.  All seminars and activities will provide the participants with tools to help enhance and engage them personally, economically, philanthropically and socially.

In addition to the private sessions, Behind the Bench will host a series of local events and activities.  On Friday September 19th, Behind the Bench will host conference participants and local fashion insiders for SHOP FOR A CAUSE from 6 to 8pm at the Collection at Chevy Chase located at 5471-5481 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland.  Prestigious retailers including Bulgari, Max Mara, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Barney’s CO-OP, Dior and others will donate 10% of proceeds to the N Street Village, a non-profit social services community that provides a spectrum of services to meet the needs of homeless and extremely low-income women as they move to stable housing and maximum self-sufficiency.

Immediately following SHOP FOR A CAUSE will be a private dinner reception at Famoso Restaurant and Lounge in honor of three women who have made tremendous contributions of their time and energy to the community.  Honorees include Andrea Butler, wife of Washington Wizards Caron Butler, DeShawn Snow, wife of Cleveland Cavaliers Eric Snow and Ashley Brown, President of Off the Field, the NFL Wives Association.

 
The Deshawn Snow Foundation Second Annual Night Under the Stars Showcase Spotlights Talented Girls

Atlanta, GA, (August 2, 2008)--DeShawn Snow, star of the Bravo’s upcoming reality series The Real Housewives of Atlanta, concluded her annual Empower Me! Camp for Girls on August 2, as the girls took center stage at the Second Annual Night Under the Stars held at Paul D. West Middle School in East Point, GA.  The talent showcase was hosted by rapper Killer Mike, who was so impressed with the level of talent and confidence of the young girls, he vowed to enroll his daughter for next year’s camp.

The girls gave creative and innovative performances in dance, song, spoken word, group performances and theatre. Celebrity judges were blown away by the talent and professionalism of the girls, ages 11-17. The judges’ panel included Askia Fountain of Compound Entertainment; William Brooks of Bad Boy South; actor Gary Sturgis of Diary of Diary of a Mad Black Woman and Daddy’s Little Girls; Yvette Caslin, executive editor of Rolling Out UrbanStyle Weekly; Sharon Foote, casting director; and “Q” of R&B group 112.
